03A note on the name
"Salish" in our name refers to the Salish Sea — the inland waters of Washington, British Columbia, and the Olympic Peninsula — and to the broader bioregion that surrounds it. We use the word to anchor the company to the Pacific Northwest, not to claim association with the Coast Salish peoples whose homelands these waters are. We acknowledge the Snoqualmie Tribe, on whose ancestral land our studio sits, and the broader Coast Salish nations whose stewardship of these waters and forests long predates the State of Washington.
